The 03,04, and 05 have the auto w/ clutchless shift - paddles shifters. I know for a fact the autos are definately faster (02+) as we have raced them many many times as the manual 5 speeds always fall flat on their face between shifts as the boost drops. Even powershifting does nothing as electronic throttle control won't allow it. Besides, the last 3 dealerships that I have worked for in the past 13 years have always deducted $1,500 for a manual as resale is dimm w/ them. A luxury Sedan w/ a 5 speed is a death wish - no resale if any.
