This is a funny thread.
Here's the answer: what do you enjoy driving more? If you like changing your own gears, get the manual. If you don't, get the auto.
I have 3 stick shift cars and a motorcycle so that tells you what I prefer :)
I own a stick Aero and have driven an auto. IMHO, even the supposedly very good auto in the 9-5 is lame. The "manual" shift feature is gimmicky. I can't stand the way the rpms bounce around in an automatic, it just doesn't seem right. Yeah I'm sure if we line up an auto and a stick and just romp on the gas the auto driver might win a few 0-60 runs. But guess what I've never once had what I'd call "fun" because I was 0.2 sec faster to 60 than some other car. I do have fun every time I drop it into 3rd at 70 mph for a pass, or when I'm going through the gears while zipping through the back roads. Can't get that with an auto.
