By eyeing through the list I can see that they use full retail prices on some parts and labor, and they have the right to do that if they are a busy shop and know what they are doing.
Wiper Assembly $494- If the pieces are still there it can be repaired for a lot less but if you need the whole wiper assembly the price is right.
Blinker Bulb $34 When one bulb goes out in the front turn signal assemblies I replace all 6 because the old ones are so degraded by now that a problem can show up soon.
Brake Master Cylinder leaking $404 Yes they do go bad sooner or later and if it is leaking it should be replaced.
Cooling Fan has an electrical issue. If only one is running the bad one should be replaced. It could around the $5-600.00 range since they are using full pricing.
Power Steering Rack - rebuilt - $575 About right with parts and labor if it also includes front wheel alignment.
Front Crank Pulley separating $600 Again, crank pulley goes bad sooner or later and it might be time. Price is high but I assume it includes reseal oil pump and all drive belts in that price.
Trans Service – the pan is pushed in, pull down & flush out $267.24 Transmission should be serviced on a regular interval (30K), to drop both pans, replace filter and gaskets and adjust bands it comes up to about that price. After that full service you probably don't need more than flush fluid for a long time if done on a regular basis.
Heat Shield corroding $300 Used heat shield might be used instead of new.
Set up engine, adjust throttle plate & timing, clean housing $250 If you have used a professional Saab shop before you don't need a setup of engine. It is all done at the 60K major service, your next setup is at 90K. In the full 60K service it would have included a full transmission service too at my shop. That service is pretty pricey on an automatic (about $650.00).
Front Alignment $75 Included in steering rack replacement?
Replace the O ring, change oil, lube $32.82 Good price
Antenna mast $70 Good price
Detail, rub - $219 Usually $120.00 for a full good detail
oh, your AC is completely empty...we didn’t price it since it’s Winter here. That could be anywhere from $200 and up in the thousands????
Yes, a little bit on the high side maybe but all depending on what you need right now and your future plans for the car it might be worth it.
People here on the board will have all kinds of low cost solutions for you.
