The steering rack on my '85 900 has been leaking for approx. 10 years. The mechanic at the dealer, at the time, (a well respected knowledgeable Saab mechanic), suggested to "live with it": a new one was too expensive and, in his opinion, the re-built racks did not last and would eventually leak as well.
I top-up the reservoir and wipe the garage floor when needed! a minor inconvenience as a trade off for a large expense.
Any thoughts or recommendations?
