IIRC, C&D listed the CS vehicles as being lighter than the CC's - the '93 Aero was about 60 lbs lighter than the '91 CC, IIRC. Also, the '93 sales brochure lists the CSE at 3190 lbs, whereas the '92 is 3203. So, I don't know where this "they gained 400 pounds" is coming from. I agree that the B234R is one of the best production engines, but I don't buy the "CC bodies are lighter" theory. I've done what you're contemplating - put a B234R engine in a clean '92. The engine in my present '94 was once in a '92, and before that, in a '98 CSE. This may sound absurd, but I can feel a difference in the engine response between the two bodies - the '94 feels lighter, faster, and more structurallly rigid. And I also take issue with the misconception that the suspension was designed by GM engineers. The suspension design of the 9000 has roots that go deeper than when GM decided it was a good investment. Besides, Joe Dille works for GM and I think he seems to know what he's talking about and designing. And GM builds the Z06 C5 'Vette - what's wrong with that suspension? Lastly, I really don't think the braking is underwhelming on a 9000 - in fact, with decent pads (I love Ferodo DS2500's) and good rubber, the brakes are more than sufficient, unless one is racing on a track. And it's been my experience that the later models' braking was better than the earlier ones. In fact, I prefer the brakes on a later model, non-TCS (ATE Mark IV) to the TCS (ATE Mark II), or any of the earlier versions with the accumulator arrangement......just my $.02.
