I will check the spark plugs then. Thank you for the "how to"...I've always wanted to mess with spark plugs. I figure once I have actually located them and toyed with them some, I'll be a real mechanic. The downside is that then my hands will be all dirty. I hate that.
I'll look at them (provided I can locate them), and then I'll have a look at the oxygen sensor, and draw pictures if I detach anything. (Thanks for the hard-earned tip!)
At 115,000+ miles, I don't suppose there would be any harm in getting a new O2 sensor anyway, would there?
Meanwhile, I'll live on the edge and drive my car, praying for a patient catalytic converter. (That's the thing that converts my car from a Cadillac to a Saab, right?)
