Thank you VERY VERY much for these wonderful posts giving me great guides as to how to go about removing and replacing (very carefully, apparently) my spark plugs.
Maybe I'll do that first.
What's odd is that I used the car today, and the "check engine" light wasn't illuminating anymore. Hmmm...
I really should learn to change the spark plugs, though, and I should also change them soon, because I have probably put...oh...about 13,000 miles on them myself, and who knows when they were changed prior to my purchase of the car, so...
I'll give it a try. I need to make absolutely certain that I have EVERYTHING I need right up front, though, because once I start removing plugs, I'm going to render that car non-driveable and...well...it's tough to ride my bike with 8 bags of organic groceries from the health food store. And the soy ice cream will melt on the way home.
So...the list:
Spark plug wrench from tool kit in rear of car
Long screwdriver
Di-electric grease to put down into the holes or on top of the plugs
Spark plugs...a whole set, however many that is...NGK only.
Can the latter two be purchased at any general auto parts store?
Thank you both very, very much for your guidance.
Julia
