disagreement but I need some mind melding here. when you say boost - am I to understand that you are actually saying above ambient (positive delta intake presure? If so we are totally together and I didn't answer Sully's question as clearly as I could have on this question. On some tests that I performed some years ago, I placed an extension potientiometer on the wastegate so that I could measure travel (position) of the wastegate as a function of manifold pressure Absolute and Delta P. We found it was unmoved until approximately approximately half the base boost was reached 0.18-25 bar BUT when installing plugs with 1.25 mm gap(actually up to 1.5 mm and different gaps in different cylinders) the gate started a jerky stutter just off of a positive boost of only .08-0.1 positive, This led us to a plug gap investigation vice wastegate position/ responses. A lot of questions were answered by this. FYI I don't know that Saab actually went this far in developing a trionics/DI ionization test at the factory but being an inquisitive type, I wanted the information fo my own use. Guess I just believe one is never smart enough to relax.
