Interesting point....since the turbo is essentially hooked up to the exhaust system is it covered under the exhaust warranty? Or does the exhaust warranty only pertain to the catalytic converters?
I had a 3rd gear synchronizer go on my 1990 Chevy Beretta GTZ at 57,000 miles. The car had a 3 year 50,000 warranty. I was enough of a pain in the rear to GM that they paid for 2/3 of the repair.
Good luck! I wouldn't shell out $9000 for the engine and turbo. I'd try to sell it "as-is" to a mechanic and run as far away from Saab as possible if they don't try to make things right on this one.
