this is actually a reminder to me of how I bought my first 9000. As a sales type a four door was mandatory, and I had previously owned a hatch back and wanted a trunk. So my first Saab was a 1985 924, that's 900 turbo four door, and it was the 16v too boot! We looked at Saabs in 1987 to replace my wife's 1985 924 (yep, twins except for color) totaled in an accident (wife fine but did get seat belt bruise from shoulder belt) We could not get a like car, Saab only imported the 900S and no turbo. Want a turbo? get a 9000 with a hatch. So we got a 900S. Fast forward to 1992 and I'm driving past the dealer with about 190,000 on my 85 and I slam on the brakes, a 9000 with a TRUNK. So I took it for a test drive. Funny thing, seats were exactly the same as my c900, so my butt was already calibrated for that seat! Bought the 92 9000CDT auto and still have it.
I do understand the feeling in seating, racing Suzuki and then Honda dirt bikes, the Suzuki RM400 you felt like you were sitting down and behind the tank (much like the Yamaha of the time), the CR500 you felt like you were sitting on top of the tank! Up close and personal with the ride!
