...though yours is the first I heard of that actually errs to the upside of the scale. Trent Saab packs a leaflet with the fpr which says to reset the fuel pressure at 3.2 bar after 150-200 miles of driving. They're not kidding - I've had three independent reports of people (or their mechanics) who ignored the recommendation, and after hundreds or thousands of miles they went to investigate a driveability problems or just why they don't get a lot of boost - and base fuel pressure is down at 1.2 bar or so!
I don't have a fuel pressure gauge handy, so I put in the valve as delivered when I dropped the 16V in. It started and ran fine, but on my first long drive I started to get an annoying hesitation when gently accelerating at between ~2,500 -3,000 rpm (oh, and the clutch crapped out on me because I didn't tighten those *&^%$ slave cylinder Allen bolts enough, but that's another story altogether...). Called Glenn at Trent Saab, who told me that is quite typical of the FSE valve; he finds 95% of them are set too low from the factory.
Anyways, I think after everything's in the car and verified working OK it might be time for a rolling road session to dial in fueling properly...
Happy Saabing,
Eric
