The best way to modify a turbo car is to improve breathing and reduce temperatures. Exhaust should be first on your list. Intercooler should be next. Trionic 7 is an air mass based system so boost pressure is not as telling as it would be in a Trionic 5 application. Trionic 7 boost pressure is always going to vary in an effort to reach the target power level. For example, if you are in a hot climate, you will have to boost to a higher pressure in order to feed the same amount of air to the TB (to reach the target power level) as if you were in a colder climate where such a high boost pressure is not needed to feed the same amount of air "mass". In all honesty, your ECU should always be remapped to account for any hardware changes. T7 is flexible enough to perform safely with hardware modifications (within certain limits) but it is always a good idea to have any changes accounted for in the software. It is going to cost WAY too much to get a new ECU program each time you change a piece of hardware but you want to keep the ECU in mind when making changes. The software is not just about "ok how much power should I produce". There are a complicated set of parameters based on the stock hardware or the hardware intended for a certain stage of software. SMBC (all other things aside) is a risky proposition for a novice DIYer. There is the danger of setting the device improperly and causing damage to your engine. This is a popular modification here in the USA but not something you will find on many (if any) tuned Trionic 7 Saabs in Europe.
