I can't speak for Dave of Andy regarding if the "adapted" their cars before getting on the strip. I know that I made some long 3rd gear highway pulls on the way to the track before running. I don't know about the state of their plugs either. I was running BCPR7ES's w/about 8-9K on them so maybe I should have switched-in a new set! 10% is nothing to sneeze at...

It sounds like maybe the 3rd-4th shift might be a partial answer: in the past I've tried to hold 3rd the whole way through and it always bumped-off the rev limit before crossing the line. As I've added pieces it became pretty clear that I needed the shift to 4th because I was spending a significant amount of time/distance before the finsh bumping the limit. So this last time I didn't even try to hold 3rd and used 4th on any run. Another issue might be that I wasn't flat-shifting for the sake of my clutch...

Dave and Andy, were you guys using 4th gear? Vigge, did Adrian use 4th or did he run-out in 3rd?

Also, and I'm not convinced this has any significance when comparing a turbo car to another turbo car, but I believe it would when comparing a turbo to a NA: THis track is basically at sea level, so the "turbo advantage" isn't nearly as great down here (compared to NA's definitely) as it possibly is at other locations. But again, not so sure that the density issue dosen't practically nullify itself when comparing mass turbos to mass turbos. My data logs show a steady 15 psi in 3rd and 4th but considering that the density at higher elevations should allow for a small amount of "over" boost it might make a difference depending upon how good the control actually is. What altitude were Adrian's runs and what was the coresponding boost?
