I honestly don't remember which piston it was, but it may very well have been #1.
This topic has been really bugging me lately. Its real unfortunate that these cars are limited like that. If they were set up a little better, I would still be driving one and really pushing the limits with it. I started to feel very apprehensive about keeping the car and a feeling of thinking the car could seriously fail at any time.
btw - GTO now has a little over 400whp(maybe 460hp at the crank or so?) and runs great its my daily commuter car and gets 30mpg on the hwy, not bad for a 3700lb v8. It has headers, cats and resonators removed and sounds pretty good. I've done a bunch of other stuff to it too. I like the fact that I can tune the car myself with readily available software thats very easy to use.
