I see no utility in a SUV, but a minivan is really the ultimate utility vehicle. The cargo capacity with the seats removed is simply huge and the ability to seat seven is useful at times.
Compared to an SUV, a minivan gets better gas mileage, seats more people comfortably, is cheaper, hauls more cargo. It does tow less, and is not off road capable, but I do not need either of these attributes.
I own a minivan and must say it is the ultimate in utility. I have helped many people move, moved supplies from Home Depot, moved car parts, I once moved over a face cord of firewood in one trip, bricks etc...

If anyone cares, Joe's garage has:
1931 Ford Model A Roadster
1970 Ford Mustang (Original everything, 44,000 miles on the ODO)
1976 Ford Mustang II (34,000 miles on this one, but not a very sexy car)
1986 Plymouth Voyager (5 spd _stick shift_ with woodgrain on the side)
2001 9-5 Aero
Been looking for a brass era T touring if anyone has one for sale...
