A reason for the better performance of the Audis might be that both of them are AWD-Cars, but the Saab is only FWD and therefore has some traction problems. But for speed lovers, like you seem to be, Saab is preparing a Saab 9-5 Viggen with 280 hp and 415 Nm of torque. The also tested a 350 hp version but FWD simply wouldn´t provide enough torque to get all this power on the road.
But what i really don´t understand is why so much people on this board are so much into who fast the cars can go. There is really more to a car than its 0-60 times. For every ! situation in traffic an Aero should be more than fast enough. When in reality will you ever floor the pedal to the metal and rev the engine up to the limiter in every gear, just to see, how fast the car can go. Come on, this is childish behaviour.
The fact about the Aero much more important is its huge torque in low and middle rpms, which allows you not to have to shift all the time and lets you overtake fast, which makes this action more secure.
And security is one of the important things Saab is about and not top speed (think of the all so many people dying because of speeding every day)
In my opinion if you want a racecar you better buy a BMW M5 or maybe a Ferrari ;-)
Sorry but i had to speak this out.
