I suppose, but the question of the finish used on the dash, whatever it is made of (or made to look like) remains important. If the finish reflects every passing light (or the sun, under certain conditions) into the driver's eyes as my '99 9-5 did before I fixed it, that's a problem. If the new finishes are duller than the old ones, that's an improvement, but if they still come with a high gloss, it needs to be addressed.
