A little much flag waving for me. I have a 1990 Acura Legend w/196K miles on it w/2.7liter 5spd. Some rust where it got clocked by a drunk. 160hp. Runs fine and firm at upper speeds (tokico's) but not so fast off the line. Also have a 1996 MaximaSE 5spd w/ 190hp, 105K miles, no rust at all. See others every day on the road. Fast off line, not crazy about the ride which is firm but overly sensitive to the little bumps in the road. Both absolutely reliable daily drivers. Which unfortunately isn't true of a lot of Saabs of the era (don't get me started on the 9000 we had!) So while the saab is a great car in its own right, it isn't the mecca some want it to be. And it's venturing to BMW logic to have to spend $$ to hop it up to match/beat other specs. Still, gotta love it for what it is. Just don't need to bash the other rides to enjoy yours ;-)
