I was wondering about this myself. I was planning on playing with it but haven't gotten around to it. On my 99 9-5 se the headlights are off in the left most position, with the switch pointing straight up, which looks like a parking light position headlights and tail lights go on. In the full right position, which looks like the headlight on position, the only thing that changes is the fog lights will come on if that switch is depressed. According to what I read in the manual, the driving lights should be the first position, but USA saabs can disable this function by pulling the fuse. And my tail lights are always on with the headlights too. What I would like is to be able to run 1. headlights only, no tail lights during the day, 2. parking lights only, and 3. headlights with tailights. The fog lights should go on anytime I hit the switch.
