Fog lights or driving lights?

I agree with you, Caspar, about how to drive with fog lights. I lived in Munich for six years, and was immediately informed while trying to pass my driving exam that if you use your fog lights inappropriately you can count on getting a ticket if caught. Does the 9-5 have fog or driving lights? There is a difference, I believe, although I've forgotten just what the difference is. I think fog lights have an amber color while driving lights are clear.
I was very disappointed in the discussion several days ago where some of our fellow Saabers said that they didn't care about anything except that it looked "cool" to run the fog/driving lights all the time. To someone who has lived where that type of practice is against the law, it doesn't look cool at all. It shows, shall I kindly say, the lack of common sense that's part of driving defensively, as we're all supposed to do. It's no fun having someone at dusk or night come up behind you with their fog/driving lights on for no other reason than to look cool. I've had to pull off just to let them get by me.
