I agree, but NHTSA had some interesting things to say. 75% of all recalls are voluntary, but 75% of recalls by dollar amount are forced by NHTSA. The car manufacturers are not entirely ethical in the treatment of their customers and the public. Unfortunately NHTSA is limited to safety issues. It is too bad there isn’t a watchdog for all issues.
Just look above at the hard start issue. I would have no problem if Saab and the dealers said we know and are working on it and will fix it for free when a solution is final even after warranty. Instead, they lie and pretend no problem exists. The suspension issue is no different. GM has to change its way of doing business. The market has clearly spoken.
As for your car how do you use your car in terms of load and when did you install the Koni with the top perch? Would the car have been sagging with a new stock setup? Does the top perch raise the static ride height?
It is possible some 9-5s are not affected, although my current opinion is all are affected. Why that may be I can't say. There doesn't seem to be any pattern by model year, suspension type (Aero, standard) or body style (wagon, sedan) which leads me to conclude all are affected. You are either lucky within engineering tolerances or haven’t used the car in such a manner as to induce this problem.
