1. Saab and the dealers say it is normal and refuse to accept that any problem exists despite counter indicative statements and actions in regard to warranty repairs.
2. Problems include tire wear, camber, ride height, damper, spring, and subframe failure. Since more problems are on the minor end, those owners with tire wear just shrug their shoulders and pay for tires. Look at the flak I am taking for suggesting a defect.
3. It takes time and miles for this to occur. Mine happened early, others has taken much longer to occur. Many out of warranty cars are not taken to dealers and owners may not post here. Many likely just accept the problem as one of those things.
4. The existence of all the aftermarket fixes indicates that the problem exists.
5. There are very old discussions on the BB about weak rear dampers and springs as well as tire wear issues. This is all related to the design of the system, be it the subframe or other defective parts/design.
I could list more, but to what end? The “first time I’ve heard of it” argument is almost never a valid reason for a complaint being non-meritorious.
