I just bought my first saab recently, as I went shopping for cars I really couldn't believe some of the things they try to pull on the consumer. One favorite is when they try to sell the extended warrenty they lie to you about how inexpensive it is to take the warrenty. They will quote you a payment of lets say 395 per month with the warrenty and 392 per month without. In my case this guy was lying straight out. The real cost without the warrenty was 342 per month. He was trying to make the warrenty look good. This, by the way, was not a saab dealer. The saab dealer I bought the car from didn't pull this kinda crap. The car wasn't cheap but the costs were laid out fairly.
I got the 99 95 se with the v6 engine and I have been very happy with it for about 2 months now.
