All my cars are stick. I taught the wife many years ago, and she will not go back. It makes all the difference in the snow. The new tech trans that is in the supercars would be an option, but, when? My bank account is not going to put an Austin Martin in my garage anytime soon. For the true enthusiast (those with motor oil in blood and tranny oil in hair) the manual is the only option. I gladly suffer through traffic for my stick.
I have been lurking on the 9-5 side checking out the impressions for a purchase of a 02 when they start coming off of lease 3 years from now. It will be a stick. My 96 Aero with stick is not the smoothest trans that I have driven, but, it is acceptable. The stick option is what has kept me in Saabs for years. And it is what will keep me there in the future.
A dyed in the wool automotive enthusiast.
