Works fine in the sense that the smoke stayed inside the wires, the fuses don't blow, and all 4 front lights shine. In the two weeks since I did the deed, I haven't had the opportunity to drive in the dark, so I have no idea if it makes a difference (LOL), but at least I'm able to use the lights that I paid for...
I have no idea, but the "1.5" seems about one "step" smaller than the JCW 16 gauge primary wiring I had in the basement in the appropriate colors. So I'd guess that 1.5 is 18 gauge, and 1.0 is around 20 gauge.
Note that the European wiring carries both the halogen filament and the shutter motor current through the same fuses, and the post-fuse wiring is the same 1.5 gauge as the US harness uses.
