I seems the classics were and are like most cars. 2nd and on owners neglect maintenance, which becomes more of an issue with age. I purchased a 89 900s for $425. that had set for more than a year. Wouldn't go into reverse and was just driven for the previous two years, yet it has a near perfect body, beautiful shape. I posted the reverse problem on the board, and I forget who it was, thanks again, I had a repair with a two page description in no time. Took it to a good, common-sense mechanic and it was fixed for $75.00. I've taken care of a boat load of maintenance issues, forgive me, Bentley and I have, and now I have a great car even though it has seen 170,000. Imagine! Just some maintenance.
