New-to-me '95 9000CS, 170k manual. Posted here recently about coolant leak and suspension issue, (my thanks to all who helped!). I took the car to shop to get a repair list and confirm the suspension trouble, here is what I was quoted (including labor):
Heater core $610
Radiator $550
Upper rad hose $77
pcv valve $30
Drive belt $150
Replace e-brake cables (already have parts, quote is labor only) $186
Tie rod end, drivers side $141 (plus cost for alignment, roughly $100?)
Power steering and brake flush $220
Battery service (clean terminals, cables) $50
Yikes! Are these prices competitive?
Is the heater core the most labor-intensive of the bunch? I think I'm feeling brave enough to try (esp. if it will save me $2000). Will borrow a friends' garage, and get plenty of adult beverages; any other special tools required??
Thanks in advance; a little moral support goes a long way!
