I have a 1999 93 se HOT. Though I am a long time SAAB owner, I looked at everything. From BMW 3series (had a 1990 325is AWESOME), Audi a4 (1.8t is a dog), Volvo s70 (model at the time), Mazda Millenia, Volkswagon Passat, Lexus es300 & on & on. My conclusion was SAAB gave me the best all around package. It will outpreform all of them, there are really no options to speak of as it comes fully loaded & it has a great feeling of being conected to the road. It really reminded me of my 325is, a true driving machine. I would take any of the cars I looked at, they are all fantastic automobiles, though I felt best value for the dollar was all SAAB. I mean leather is an option on a $30k + car from BMW & Audi, thats ridiculious. Though I had great luck with my BMW, as well as an Audi I owned, (both high mileage with no problems), SAABS have been bulletproof for me with the proper care & maintance (my 1990 900s 256,000 miles on original clutch).
Wow I really carried on, sorry. Back to my 93 se HOT. Its been a great car with no problems (34,000 miles) other than the usual little rattles & some small quality issues. My dealership is great, my family has a long
realationship with them. I must say though if your considering a s60 t5, seeing the price point is inline with a 95, I would go in that direction. Though if you really love the 93 style look at the Viggen, that is a fantastic car.
Sorry for going on & on......I just love cars!
