1986 Porsche 959 and 1987 Ferrari GTO - both designed for Gruppe B racing. Only 200 of each were made. Those cars were an investment (and both sold originally for over $250,000, if I recall correctly). Both worth at least triple that now. But that's beside the point. Anyone who buys any car (esp. any car designed to be/used as a daily driver), and expects it to not depreciate, is going to be very surprised.
In this day and age where people flip between cars every few years (bad idea if you aren't leasing - like flushing money down the commode), depreciation is something you have to watch for - but it's a fact of life, IMHO.
