OK, so it's the Crankshaft Rear Seal. I searched for "Rear Seal", "Rear Main Seal", and "Main Seal" but wasn't sure what seal I should be getting. Thanks for clarifying.
My Viggen does not have any horsepower upgrades. I put in the Viggen Rescue Kit and upgraded Intercooler from MP Performance a number of years back, and I have a Rear Sway Bar upgrade that I keep forgetting to install, but that's about it in terms of upgrades that I can recall.
LA fwy traffic is the primary culprit for the clutch going south. In fact, it was a day after a particularly brutal hour of stop and go in 1st gear that it started slipping badly. Before that, I could still boost well into the yellow and not have any slip.
As you can plainly see, I'm not very familiar with transmissions on a Saab. From what I could gather reading various discussions, it sounds like a Viggen transmission is simply a standard 9-3 transmission with a few additional components. If that's correct, what are the additional components? Is there a diagram somewhere with part numbers that I can reference?
Also, I recall reading about there being an updated design of the crush sleeve and that I should replace this too. Any idea where I can find this part? Didn't see it on eEuroparts.
