I own a Viggen and just drove the WRX. The WRX is nice, but a lot of the money for it went into the engine and awd system. The interior is relatively cheap. Take a door and watch it while you shut it: the interior of it compresses. Also, even though the HP rating is similar to the Viggen's, the Viggen is way more fun in everyday driving. I had the WRX floored at about 3000 rpm, and the car did nothing. To have any fun in the car, you're going to have to really rev the engine, because it doesn't hit maximum horsepower until 6,000 rpm and max torque until somewhere in the 4,000 rpm range, plus the torque is relatively low (207 lb-ft, I believe). I'm not used to having to rev the engine so high, so I didn't drive it the way you should to have fun (I normally shift by 4,000 rpm, because, if you don't, you'll be flying in the Viggen).
The WRX is relatively cheap (assuming you buy it at a place that doesn't mark them up over MSRP), but the cheap cost will be offset by all the clutches and trannys you'll go through. They do have a 5 year warranty on the drivetrain.
