I was basing my accel guesses from a track event I did. The WRX pulled me a good bit but I was running a pretty much stock 88 SPG with 165K miles. I had a G-6 APC but at that time only running 1/4 red which is stock boost. Come to find out part of the reason my car was so slow was I had a hole in one of the IC pipe hoses thus I was losing lots of boost & it still wasn't a LOT faster then me! My temp guage was also about off the scale after 1 or 2 hot laps :o(
If it does do sub 6's it's definantly due to massive RPM launches! Because when we were going 40-110 mph, it wasn't that much quicker then my SPG, which my SPG "was" a little slower then my brothers 98 900 SET. Now that I have fixed the lack of boiost problem, & just need to fix the overheating problem (new radiator) & then come on WRX :o)
O yea, once I felt comfortable going through the turns, the WRX was very similar in handling to my 88 SPG.
It's a great car for the money but just not my money, I'll take a Swede any day :o)
