not in a saab, but...
at one time i delivered auto parts for a wholesale company here in the city. i drove an 88 Caravan (hunk-o-junk). you had to make sure you *really* put the van into park before getting out of the vehicle. now, it was against policy to leave the van running while i ran inside with parts, but we all did it, we never shut our vehicles off. so, at least i knew better and i always made sure that i had slammed the shifter into park before hopping out.
called in sick one day and my buddy John filled in for me. typical driver, he left the van running as he ran inside. we delivered to *alot* of shops which sit along lake erie. he pulls into a shop, leaves the van running, puts it in park, etc... he comes out to find his van perilously hanging over the edge of a drop off to the lake, held by two road cables (no guard rails, just wire cables).
wasn't he surprised! i felt bad that i hadn't forewarned him, but since it was a P.O.S. and a company vehicle, it was more funny than anything else. company finally wound up fixing the problem. the problem they *knew* about just as well as i did!
