The chassis itself is stiffer than the old 900's, but I doubt the NG900's body is even as stiff. Like he said, the body is designed with all sorts of crumple zones, so it will absorb the energy of an impact, instead of transmitting it to the occupants. It's much safer, but it's much more expensive to fix in a major wreck. Of course this is true of any new car.
