I've searched the archives, see that this has been discussed before, thought that I'd throw it out again.

For over a year, I've expected my next car to be a manual. Haven't been happy with Sequential Sport Shift Prelude. Loved previous manual Prelude.

I'll be evaluating finances this weekend, expect to place offer on a 2002 Aero SportWagon monday or tuesday. Local dealer has had only automatics, and I've been very impressed with the Aero auto. Yesterday drove down to Indianapolis (actually Fishers, beautiful new facility) to test drive manual. All that he had was a Linear. Just didn't excite me. Granted it's no Aero, and with only 40 miles on it, I was treating it like it was my own. Have recently driven new A-4 and Passat 1.8 manuals also. None of these seem as nice of shifters as my Prelude. I'm sure that the Aero manual drives very different than the Linear. I don't see how I can test drive new Aero manual unless I head out 90 miles to another dealer, if they even have one. And I'm not sure how receptive they will be to allow test drive to someone who will probably buy from his local dealer instead (kudos to Jim at Fisher SAAB for letting me loose with one). I'll also be surprised if May's Aero incentives are as good as April's.

I know Lou's thoughts on this, looking for other's opinions (Lou, don't feel excluded :).
