And,

'cyphering through all that stuff you'll find the major contradiction is from SAAB itself:

They give you all the ACEA "stuff" specs, yet the SAAB factory-inclusive maintenance oil --the semi-synthetic oil--is NOT MEASURING UP TO the very specs thr tell you to meet!!

Go figure!!

Enter the phrase (or similar) "by market" ie USA/Europe/Mid-East--- so since (at the time of the 2000 writing)--there were no ACEA A3/B3 oils to meet the spec in the USA stores--since other owners opted for AMSOIL/MOBIL 1 oils in the USA--then all the SAAB engines should be toast and MASSIVE class action lawsuits would be filed against SAAB for this "deception ?" on their part. Show me. Show me the failure rate for good old Mobil 1.

Mobil 1 ? Yes, the very oil rebadged into SAAB full synthetic oil 0W-30.

"BY MARKET"...learn the phrase...

Further research on your part would show how other car companies equate the ACEA A3/B3 with API SJ. ( I've posted this previous, too.)

Driving SAAB for over 26 years now--somebody had GOT TO PROVDIE PROOF--yet nobody has tangible evidence--to SHOW ALL OF US that these cars will not run on API oils.

Yeh, right!

Tell that to my ol' 1983 SAAB 900 that ran for 350,000 miles on xW-30 oils. MINEAL oils.. and did not "consume" 0.5 qts in 3,000 miles at the 300,000 miles odometer reading.

Now tell me, how many SAABs you owned, and how many miles you've put on a SAAB--not as many as I have!!

98% of the readership of this VERY POSTING will not have their present SAAB car at its 100,000 miles odometer reading.

We haven't posted over 1000 posts on Bad advice--learn how the long timers have success--maybe it will rub off
