I didn't read all thru your piece but have been sorta following this thread. Ari kind of blew the dream to bits at the outset, it's hokum, but even if, you have to remember not to think of what your alternator produces when called on to as free energy - - when the regulator says "generate," the alternator's drag gets greater and it costs the car's motor work to generate that electricity, and that costs gas. And it's an inefficient conversion. Plus as Ari says even if your electrolysis yielded some hydrogen you could burn, and yielded it at remarkable efficiency, it can never be even 100 per cent efficient. So not only counting that loss, but also adding in the loss in generating electricity from gasoline, your hydrogen would come at a greater cost in energy used than in potential fuel supplement energy gained.
(A big problem with all the information posted on the internet is that there's no reliable way of telling bullshit from solid science. It's fun to dream around with this stuff and might even be worth experimenting a little with it but you need to start off knowing it's not going to work.)
The only free energy from your car is the excess heat that needs to be dumped by the motor, and there's lots of that. If you could find a way to convert THAT into energy you could burn, you might succeed in improving the car's fuel efficiency a little.
