back when gas was $4 a gallon. But then I read a road test by one of the car magazines. It tested the Civic, Corolla, Imprezza, Focus and a couple of others. The best car in the bunch only got 26 MPG overall which is about what I get with my NG900. The reason is that these car have grown alot--they are all about the same size and weight as a 9-3 now. We did rent (renting for trips is a smart alternative to owning newer cars by the way) a Nissan Versa for a road trip and got 34 MPG on one leg of the trip. But that's a much smaller, less powerful car than a Civic.
