I'll have to second that. My wife's honda civic (96) has been used and abused (and I really mean abused) for 238,000 miles and NEVER EVER let us down. The main reason I bought an old saab for my next car (my introductin to the saab community) rather than another Honda was that I'm a car guy. I have a tool box. I want to do more with a car than change the oil. And in that respec my 900 (116,000 miles) has come thru in aces. I've replaced inner and outer cv joints, inner drive shaft, rebuilt the slave cylindar, then after that was completed and put back together, replaced the release bearing, replaced upper and lower ball joints, both sides, as well as tie rod ends, power antena, drivers side power window motor. My cooling fans are next, and perhaps a Transmission, as I no longer have first gear, and it ticks like a clock in fourth. Dont' get me wrong, I love the car, but You have to pay Honda it's due respect. They build a car that keeps going and going and going with little or no fuss. oh, and did I mention that it gets between 36 and 39 mpg on every tank? Oh, and the other thing that sold me on the Saab was this web site.
You go on to a honda site and the bullitan board is mostly about fitting 17 inch wheels, lowering spring kits, and sub woofer questions. By contrast, the Saab site is mostly about how to keep the thing running. For some reason, that appealed to me.
