You're assuming a turbo...

MY '94 CSE 5-speed (black/black) has the 2.3l normally aspirated motor. I seem to recall Julia saying in another post that hers is also not a turbo. The "shimmy" at idle is not really that bad, but it can indicate worn motor mounts, in particular the mounts in the "dogbone" top torque rod (the mount on the top of the engine). On my car at least, the A/C compressor activating is a very pronounced event, different from a light shimmy at idle, which is just engine vibrations.
I've already responded to Julia about the squealing on another thread.
Julia, yes, you do need to fully depress the clutch to shift; that is if you want your gearbox to last another 50k miles. If you can't reach to fully depress the clutch, you can't reach to fully depress the brakes, either, in which case you should move the seat forward (just a wild guess as to why you're asking the question).
