Thanks everyone for the input please keep it coming if you have anything else to add. I guess the limp home will let me limp home if the TCS malfunctions.
This concerns me because there is nothing worse than being stranded on the side of the road in rural S.Carolina w/ a Saab (SPG), and where every tow truck driver who stops quotes you $500 BUCKS thats $1.5 million Can. And by the way while I was figuring out that is was the ignition module all the tow guys asked if the engine was 8 cyl. Nope
I keep my cars in good conditions so I'm not worried about rad hoses, belts, and that kind of stuff but its the stuff that is either working or its not (on/off type stuff) that I don't like and the TCS seems to be one of those things.
But as long as I can limp it home or to Townsend imports on my Toronto to Florida run I might risk the 9000 w/ TCS. By the way the car is in great shape w/ a new head gasket and valves w/ zero miles since the work. Actually the throttle body looks pretty recent as well.
I used to drive a Jeep Cherokee down, pretty reliable but everything on the drive line wears out and it ain't cheap to fix all those u-joints + its a pig on gas.
Thanks everyone Rob
