Slaves, over the history of this here 9000 forum, are probably the most consistent source of angst whenever anyone veers from the "buy the Saab part" formula. No one knows why. Rebuilds unfortunately have not had a good track record here.
Perhaps in the future, with Saab a more fond memory, it'll become a necessity to rebuild, but in the meantime, I'd take the least risky route and replace it with the Saab part. When I did my last clutch job, I wound up paying the premium and bought it from the dealer.
