it seems there really isn't any MTBF established for these pumps. It does appear however there is corelation for the short lived ones that would substantiate that consistant running on the bottom of the tank leads to shortened life span. Also some appear to have had periods of water borne corrosion or sitting with no activity (here in Florida- snow birds!).
My 900 SPG went 325,000 miles on the same pump. My neighbors 9000 went only 95,000 miles. My pump ran 2-3 hours a day, 6 days a week for 10 years. his ran ever so often, so you guys figure it.
