"Your previous responses, which you referenced here, were derogatory and misinformative."
What the hell are you talking about? Just what have I posted that can be percieved as derogative or misinformative? I referenced to Coolknight's testing where he stated that the Hyperboost should be a slightly better choice if you get cold weather. He DID test the 007P.
"I was trying to say that by using a spring force which greatly exceeds the boost pressure, it WILL be closed longer. If you're getting 8# of boost, why bump up the spring rate? Well, going from a 15# spring to a 30# spring will get you: 1) faster on-boost due to closing sooner, & 2) slower off-boost due to opening later (which is why someone with a stronger spring might want to run their valve backwards)."
This is the misconception I'm talking about. It doesn't matter that a stronger valve opens later. It's completely irrelevant. Faster closing is also not nearly as important as avoiding compressor stall which, as I've mentioned, is the main cause of lag during shifts. When you release the throttle, the valve shouldn't open as late as possible, it should open as soon as possible. As for how fast it closes again, the important thing is just that it's closed when you get on the gas again. Even a pretty weak spring should be able to do that.
Do you see my point?
"All my original post said, was that I wondered if there was enough interest for a group buy. I'd already decided on which valve I was going to buy, & I didn't mention or compare to any other other brand. I wasn't asking for opinions, but I got them."
I think a group buy would be a great idea, but if you can get a better product (which was my understanding at the time) why not try a group buy on that instead? Then you post a link to a test that supposedly showed the Hyperboost performing worse than other valves. I'll give the author credit for doing the test, but the results and conclusions were flawed (eg. pronouncing the probably worst valve to be the winner).
If you don't want opinions you shouldn't be posting on a bulletin board. There's no need to get defensive just because people don't agree with you.
