Ben,
You took the head off and had the valves gone over by the machine shop. Was there any trouble with the car before you took it apart?
You were driving it, or another 9000, in December, from an earlier post of yours.
Was it working up to the point of disassembly? Anything odd about running then?
Wire off oil sender gives no light, wire off sender and touching ground gives light on all the time. A sender that's plugged up with sludge also can give light on all the time I think. These senders often fail in no-light mode though.
The later block (95 up? or is it 94 up?) have reputation of more reliable crank position sensors than earlier 9000s.
