Yep, I've done the job a few times. Engine removal on a 99 is easy as compared to a C-900(alot less stuff to un-hook to remove the engine and tranny). A few days before SOC03 I removed the engine in my 75EMS in the evening to replace a worn tensioner, then had the engine installed and running before noon the next day. There's a local place to me I rented an engine hoist from($50/day), so I made sure to have the engine out and back in in less than 24 hours.
IMO, removing a d-jet 2 liter(73-74) is less work than removing a k-jet 2 liter(75-80).
I have some pages from the service manual I could scan and post if you need them.
