I made the assumption a few minutes ago that this is a Triumph engined car, forgetting that they started putting the 2.0L Swedish engine in midway through '72. Which engine is in the car? Teh Triumph has a narrow valve cover with a row of big nuts down one side of the head outside the valve cover. The 2.0L has a wider valve cover, with all of the head bolts inside it.
It's a lot easier to do on a Swedish engine than on a Triumph engine. I still suggest that you have a gasket set in hand.
