I live in Westchester county, just north of NYC. Last year we had virtually zero snowfall and this year we are getting creamed. Like you, I have an '02 9-3 which came with Pirellis. We had a light snowfall in early December and the car felt like it was riding on ice. Very scary. I put on a set of Michelin Artic Alpins and now the car is getting through everything and gives me a great sense of confidence. These particular tires also work well in the dry, for snows. This is one of the reasons I opted for these. So even if you only get the occassional snow, the cost is well worth yours, and others, safety.
