We did talk about Saabnet and Steve said he does check it, although his staff probably does most of the site cruising.
I'm sure he goes to the other Saab-related sites as well. No reason to think otherwise.
From a corporate POV, he has to take into consideration the legacy of the marque and what it means to Saab loyalists, balance that with market demands, competitive products, what appeals to people who are not Saab fanatics, orchestrate financial, technical and manufacturing resources, etc., etc. I see the same things happening at the other big companies I deal with every day. Always a balancing act.
And yes, he could probably use some letters. But IMHO they need to be written in a way that shows an understanding of the things he faces, with what we, as Saab enthusiasts, care about. Steve really seems to understand that there are things that make Saabs unique and that it's important to consider these as new models are introduced, but with the knowledge that some things are more important than others, and that survival of the brand and some of its uniqueness is important. And that no matter what, he can't please everyone.
