Saab doesn't do the best at marketing in the U.S. Yes - some will argue that they do a great job but some people see Saab as a shrine which in reality isn't the best thing and will not make Saab a better company.
First, the push marketing of the Saab-i e-mail is so poorly customized - the message is typically useless to the end consumer - especially if they are a saab owner. They collected personal information for that publication yet they don't seem to appropriately utilize it within their e-crm application.
The Saab global web site has a store - - good luck ordering from it in the U.S. Send an e-mail to cs group supporting that site asking how to order and you won't even get a response. I tried it twice. Hint - - don't offer e-mail functionality if you aren't going to respond.
I find that the Saab U.S. web site has as much thrill for a Saab owner as reading a 3 month old Newsweek at the Doctor's office. The news posting are infrequent and inconsistent - -- also there is little functionality on the site for a saab owner - - service tracking/notification, offers etc would make the site more beneficial.
I like Saab's very much - - but I think their marketing department leaves much to be desired.
